Optimum Nutrition Cake Bites Review

The cake bites do not have exact cake texture but are soft and tasty. Personally I think they are much more exciting than your typical protein bar. They make a good occasional treat or dessert. I honestly enjoyed all three flavors and would get them again.

Birthday Cake: my favorite, tastes just like funfetti cake mix, I love the adorable rainbow sprinkles. Be careful on lots of websites they charge more for this flavor.

Red Velvet: These bites have a white chocolate shell with a delicious moist red velvet filling. These treats make a great sweet craving buster. They contain only 5g of sugar. They are soft and decadent. Not chalky, easy to eat and light and fluffy. They nailed the white chocolate shell also.

Chocolate Dipped Cherry: They have a good taste and are appetizing. This a creative and unique flavor for protein treats.

I cannot wait to grab more of these. I love treating myself to this amazing snack.

Let’s Talk Gains :Optimum Nutrition Gainer Review

Looking to gain some muscle? Gaining muscle requires you to eat in a surplus. You’ll be eating more food than normal while hopefully still consuming  your calories mindfully. You should be counting your macros to make sure you are eating in the correct surplus range. To read about how to count your macros please click here.

Sometimes there isn’t enough time in the day to cook and eat all the calories you may need to eat to gain weight. That is where supplements come in. You want to put supplements into your body that you can trust. The Optimum Nutrition gainer has helped me gain muscle weight and increase my strength in the gym. My current goals are to build muscle and increase my strength on the powerlifts: bench, deadlift and squat.

I have been taking half a serving after I work out which is more than enough for me as I am eating in a small surplus of 250 calories above maintenance daily. Half a serving is 385 calories, 4.5g F/ 58g Carb/ 27.5g Protein. I mixed mine in a shaker bottle with unsweetened almond milk which adds a few calories but not many. For those of you looking for more immediate weight gain results I would recommend consuming a full serving of this gainer daily. You can buy the gainer here.

I often find it hard to hit my carbs in a healthy way. This shake definitely fills that void for me. Rather than reaching for packaged food or sugary carb sources this gainer is filled with a healthy carbohydrate blend that is made up of oat flour, pea starch and potatoes. The mix also includes flax seeds and chia. The gainer its self mixes fairly easily in a blender bottle although I think it would be best with ice and almond milk in a blender. It was very creamy and the vanilla flavor was tasty without tasting artificial.

You can drink this post workout or even have half a serving between meals if you are looking for steady calories throughout the day. Gaining muscle weight can be empowering and awesome. No wonder why #gainingweightiscool is trending. Here is my transformation over the years.

Opti-Bar Product Review

Behold: The world’s best-selling protein is now portable!

optiBars.png
The bars come in 5 on-the-go flavors: Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Cookies ‘N Cream, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Cinnamon Pecan Roll. Each bar has less than 4 grams of sugar and contains 8-10 grams of fiber. Every flavor packs 20g of high quality whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate. I prefer this softer bar over the similar Quest Bar because the Opti-Bar is less chewy and less in your face sweet.
Below is a definitive foodie-approved ranking of Optimum Nutrition Opti-Bar:
1) White Chocolate Raspberry
2) Cinnamon Pecan Roll
3) Chocolate Brownie
4) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
5) Cookies ‘N Cream

1) White Chocolate Raspberry: First impression opening the bar was great. It was super fragrant with a scent of fresh raspberries and was stuffed to the brim with mini white chocolate chips throughout the bar. This flavor is crave worthy, moist and hands-down my favorite out of the line. I’ve got to get myself a box of this flavor!

2) Cinnamon Pecan Roll: This bar reminds me of fresh baked cinnamon rolls. It features a vanilla bean frosting coating and sweet cinnamon base. The bar is soft without being too chewy.

3) Chocolate Brownie: This bar doesn’t have an inside shot because it was the first one I devoured. It has a deep chocolate base with chunky chocolate chips throughout the bar. It could help curb hunger and chocolate cravings all in one.

4) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: This bar had lots of large chocolate chunks. Like all these bars they are not chalky and have the consistency of a less chewy quest bar. I want to try this crumbled over halo top so badly!

5) Cookies ‘N Cream: I was surprised to see a light chocolate base with real cookie chunks accompanied by chunks of Oreo-cookie-like cream filling. The chunks were plentiful and definitely not half-assed.

Overall, I would recommend these bars to anyone looking for an easy way to curb their cravings on-the-go. These also are a super easy way to get your protein content up without the shaker or an oven! I love that they have less than 4g of sugar in each bar so you can be sure you’re not consuming too much processed sugar. You can purchase yours today here.
